Continuing our last discussion, today we’re going to discuss about the other four reasons why you get procrastinated from time to time. You may think these reasons were not a problem before, but as you keep reading, you’ll find out that little things you do in life are actually related to procrastination. Reason #1 – You Experience a Lack of Motivation

Not being motivated enough can affect your mood which will make it affect your productivity as well. Knowing that you don’t like something makes it harder for you to start doing the given task, even when the deadline is near.

How to Solve It

If you’re not motivated at school, think about what will happen in the future if you don’t do it. Or you can finish the task in your own ‘fun’ way—do it while listening to music, TV, or anything that can make your motivation back. You can also give yourself break from time to time, in order not to stress yourself.

Reason #2 – You are Unclear About How to Get Started

You’re most likely be procrastinated when you have no idea how to get a work started. It’s going to be frustrating if what you have in your mind is an abstract—not a concrete idea.

How to Solve It

If that problem encounters you, you can ask your teacher or senior for help—at least you know how your task is going to be look like. You can surf the Google to get the big picture of your task. Just remember, do not plagiarize!

Reason #3 – You Often Get Distracted

It will be hard for you not to be procrastinating when you’re the type to easily distracted. Doing an assignment in the living room or in a public space like coffee shop won’t be beneficial to you.

How to Solve It

Try to finish an assignment at a quiet place—your room is one example. You also have to make sure that you have apps which will help you from open internet too often, especially entertainment website. Don’t forget to tell people in your house not to talk to you during that time, because that could be one of the ways not to be distracted.

Reason #4 – You Know the Task Will Require Effort and Hard Work

Thinking it will be a hard work and effort assignment will lead to be lazy. You won’t get things done if you think the assignment overwhelmed you.

How to Solve It

Try to list the steps in order to finish the task—break it into a few steps. After knowing the little things to do, do it slowly. Therefore, you won’t feel overwhelmed and you’ll finish your assignment in no time.
